SFA Group continues to expand its water-treatment division with the acquisition of Belgian company Metaalconstructies Pouilliers, a recognised leader in precision metalworking. Founded in 1949 in Halle, Pouilliers employs 22 people and has established itself as a specialist in made-to-order metal components. Its work ranges from components for elevators, stairways, and guardrails to the production of technical equipment, especially for water treatment, for its main customer and long-standing partner Aquasystems International. Drawing on proven capabilities such as laser cutting, bending, welding and turning, the company designs and manufactures steel, stainless-steel, and aluminium parts built to meet the most demanding requirements.
This acquisition aligns with SFA enviro’s growth strategy, the SFA Group division dedicated to municipal and industrial water-treatment equipment. SFA enviro builds on the legacy of Europelec—SFA Group’s early pioneer in water treatment—further strengthened by the successive acquisitions of Aquasystems International in Belgium, Aquaturbo Systems in the United States, and Envirosep in France in April 2026. Together, these milestones have enabled SFA enviro to assemble a technology portfolio spanning every stage of water treatment, from pre-treatment through to aeration.
It is worth noting that Metaalconstructies Pouilliers and SFA enviro have maintained a long-standing business relationship. The Belgian company has been a long-time supplier to Aquasystems International, partnering for more than 50 years to manufacture components used in its water-treatment equipment. Pouilliers has also shared facilities with Aquasystems International since 1969. This close operational and industrial proximity has fostered a partnership built on trust, complementary expertise, and a shared vision for growth—naturally leading to Metaalconstructies Pouilliers joining SFA enviro.
Beyond this strategic move, the transaction also creates new growth opportunities for Metaalconstructies Pouilliers. By joining the SFA Group, the company will gain stronger resources to speed up investment, modernise its production capabilities, and support long-term development.
According to Aurélien Goyeau, CEO of SFA enviro:
“Bringing Pouilliers into SFA enviro is the result of a relationship of trust built over several decades. Their expertise in precision metalworking is a major industrial asset, enabling us to increase our independence for critical components and accelerate our product innovation.”

According to Stéphane Harel, Deputy CEO of the SFA Group :
“This acquisition reflects our ambition to build an international leader in water treatment, one that controls its technologies and manufacturing tools. With the acquisition of Metaalconstructies Pouilliers, we are taking another step toward an integrated industrial model, capable of meeting global water-management challenges with comprehensive, high-performance solutions.”
Through this external growth initiative, the SFA Group reaffirms its commitment to continuing to expand SFA enviro, building on proven technologies, a stronger local footprint, and an active strategy of partnerships and acquisitions.
