The cities around Perth are growing fast and so are the demands on their wastewater treatment plants. Together with our partner Aeris Global, SFA enviro is proud to support two important upgrade projects in Alkimos and Mandurah.
In Alkimos, outdated 132 kW aerators are being replaced with our 160 kW Aquaturbo AER GD low speed surface aerators. The first two units have been successfully commissioned in collaboration with Tijl BEETS and Darrel CLARCK. Four more units will follow by November 2025.
In Mandurah, four 132 kW Aquaturbo AER-GD units are currently being installed, replacing aging brush aerators boosting both efficiency and energy performance.
These projects demonstrate how our high-efficiency, low-speed surface aerators from SFA enviro provide municipalities with robust and sustainable solutions to address present and future water treatment challenges. Quality is a choice!
The Aquaturbo AER-GD units, equipped with four blades, are specifically designed for oxidation ditches, where they ensure effective oxygen transfer while generating a strong horizontal flow throughout the ditch.
Each impeller is manufactured in 304L stainless steel, with a diameter of 3.33 meters and a total weight of 2 tons. The mechanical assembly includes a Hansen P4 industrial gearbox directly coupled to a WEG W22 electric motor, ensuring reliable long-term performance under challenging conditions.
